I've moved!! Blog relocation announcement

IMPORTANT!!
Attention dear friends, we're moving out!

I'm sorry to have failed in giving you a decent heads-up beforehand; my organizational skills are not nearly as good as I wish them to be... I've been working like a Trojan for the last couple of weeks, on the (not-so-secret-any-more) website that will be now a dwelling place for Random Acts Of Creativity.

In other words, I switched to a self-hosted Wordpress website, which means no more teeth-grinding over Blogger issues! YAY! I'm looking forward to providing you with a more reliable and enriched service, while at the same time I'm given the tools to make my content more interesting and pleasing for the eye.
Now, the important part is that the move means no more Google Friend Connect.Yikes!
It pains me that I now have nearly 1000 of my GFC followers to handle as gracefully as possible, and I can only hope I'm doing all I can in that matter! LOL
(by the way, I'm blown away with that number, I truly am!! Thank you so much for the trust you've been putting in me, in making your days perhaps a wee bit more inspirational)

There's a number of means through which you can subscribe to my blog instead, including RSS (also via email), Networked Blogs & Twitter. Whatever your preferences, I sincerely hope that you will make it there and make yourself at home! :)

There is a new post waiting for you there already,  go on and check it out!! I can't wait to find out what you think. In case of any suggestions or concerns, please shoot me an email and we'll work it through :)

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #92

How has your weekend been so far, crafty peeps? I've been working on something that some of you must be aware of already (Hello, email subscribers! Hello, FB friends!), I'll be moving to a self-hosted website soon! Namely WordPress. YAY! Good-bye Blogger... :)
More on it later, but fret not, I'll offer you enough time to find me at the new place, subscribe by the means of your choice, make yourself at home... I'm still polishing things up. I hope you'll like it :)

I've got a new sketch for you, and I won't keep you waiting any longer. I'm late already! Ouch.

The sketch was inspired by one of the cards in this post by Jill. I think I may use one more or so from that bunch, for the future inspiration - they're all brill!!
Here's my offering...

The papers come from MME's Miss Caroline collection. The tag is a Glitz Design sticker, and I put some alphas there, as well as a Kaisercraft rub-on. My favourite butterflies from Hero Arts Antique Engravings, were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copics.
Plenty of washi tape here as well, mixed with a button and some enamel dots from MME.

Apart from the Washi Tape Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, I'm entering this card into Tuesday Trigger: Elegant Emerald. Love me some Trigger fun :)

---------------------------------------------------
A few things to keep in mind if you decide to use my sketch:
- You're kindly asked to save the image onto your computer first, and if you make a card based on it, please link back to this post.
- If you upload your card to an online gallery, use the code SSC92.
- Feel free to share the link to your creation via the Inlinkz widget, so that I can come and check it out!
- The colours/elements mean nothing towards the card. All styles, colours and supplies, as well as slight alterations of the sketch are welcome.
- A new sketch and sample is posted every other Saturday night (American EST time ~ or around mid-day Sunday Melbourne time), but you're welcome to play any time! Just leave a link in the comments section after Inlinkz widget closes.

Jay Gee's Nook - Blooming cup

Good day to you, crafty friends!
I'm chiming in with a new Jay Gee's Nook post, and it's a very cheerful and fun card, with lots of paper piecing. I used up a few scraps lying around for quite a while, always a joy when I get to it! I'm very conscious regarding my supplies and save most of my scraps to be used later. How long they sometimes have to wait for their 'second coming', is quite a different story... lol

These whimsy flowers come from a Doodle Flowers set by Jane's Doodles. I coloured the leaves with various Copic markers, and the flowers were paper pieced, cut out and popped up on foam dots.
The cup they're growing from, comes in turn from Mama Elephant's Cup of Wishes.

I stamped the dots border from the Mama Elephant set, in PTI Ocean Tides on aqua cardstock, and fitted in a few pink & lavender ones among the flowers. I'me pretty hyped with creating bokeh-like effects lately... :)
Twill ribbon banners fastened to the card, buttons and bling, add variety and finish the card.
Pop in to the Jay Gee's Nook blog for more from the Design Team :)

CASE Study Challenge #132, plus a GD announcement!

It's CASE Study time!! Which happens to equal "let's CASE Julie Ebersole time" too! Judging by the number of submissions to our inaugural March challenge, you're all more than up for it, and this in turn makes me squeal with delight. Let's see if we can beat that with this week's inspiration card:

Um, negative die cutting. How I love thee. Add a little dimension and the card suddenly goes from good to terrific. We don't even need to be die cutting queens like JJ Bolton or Laura Bassen, one simple but effective shape can do it all at once, if given center stage.
Now, I don't claim that I did just this, but negative die cutting there is none the less, and seriously... who can resist these bunnies?? Ermagherd! Cuteness abounds...

I started with the idea for the card to the left, with the two bunnies (Silhouette cut files) cut out of the cream panel and backed with patterned papers. I didn't pop the panel up on foam tape like Julie did, though.
The balloons are die cut shapes from Studio Calico, and I tucked them in the bunneh's paw using button twine. The sentiment comes from a WPlus9 set called Easter Greetings.

Then I decided to use the positive die cuts on another card, just 'cause they were sitting on my desk looking equally adorable. I cut an oval window in lavender cardstock, using my Nestabilities, and stamped the patterns on each of the critters, with the aid of Off Beat Backgrounds stamps from Waltzingmouse. The patterned paper in the background is Bo Bunny's. Funnily enough.

Both cards utilize some yummy purple washi tape and buttons, I've also got a banner sticker from Melissa Frances, with the sentiment that seemed very appropriate for the occasion. Btw, there's only two weeks till Easter, people!! Can't wait for some egg-decorating fun with my Chuplet :)

The window card was inspired by Therese Calvird's inspiration card in the Muse Challenge #8 (below), and both were also created with The Emphasize the Negative challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

10 Minute Craft Dash #13

What a joyful evening! Firstly, because with any sort of luck, I'm facing the last hot night before the much needed cool off... I'm so over the summer heat!
(I'm well aware that most of you 'Northerners' may silently curse me right now...)
Secondly, it's been a super busy day and I didn't count on making it to the bloggie with anything at all. Well, guess what... I did! Love the post-a-day thingy and how keeps a steady flow of sumthin' that makes my mornings very special - YOUR comments! lol!
Please tell me it's a good form of selfishness... *wink*
The challenge I was eager to try and kept me entertained tonight, is 10 Minute Craft Dash #13. Once again I found out that the more I give it a try, the less stress there is involved, or perhaps turned into a good and productive form of adrenaline high.

Traditionally, I assembled all needed supplies including a pre-scored card. Here's the lot: WPlus9 Heartfelt Mix stamp set, Memento & Palette inks, My Mind's Eye patterned paper, Studio Calico chippies and scraps of cardstock.

Which in turn led me to this! Easy peasy - once I had the whole design put straight in my mind, that is. Which is perhaps the trickiest part of all, 'cause my brain doesn't like to think ahead much :)

The timing is not a revelation, but not too shabby either!

This time I also helped myself to a sketch, rs#54.

Thanks so much for checking out my little corner of the world today, I'll see you soon enough :)

Runway inspired, for a little guy

Hi guys, just a quick post today. I'm playing with ric#31, with the card below:

There's a PTI Harvest Gold at the bottom of the card, the strips were cut from black cardstock, the numbers border is a Silhouette cut file. The star points to the age that the little guy who this card is intended for, is turning. I hope it's clear enough :)
The "you turned" wording, is a part of thew WMS stamp, from the set called Free Spirit Sentiments.

Here's the Runway inspiration, plus the CTS#18 sketch that I also used:

See you tomorrow, I should hope!
