Today I'm showing you a pair of simple cards with a little touch of shimmer.
This was my first experiment with other than a standard card opening, and a pretty "shy" one lol.
It's another old set of mine, might I add. I should stop doing this, as soon I'll resent looking at all this rough work :P
I'm afraid the quality of photos quite poor here too, for what I apologize.
(the sentiment in the second card says "happy birthday" - it's just a piece of confetti, and the butterfly - another confetti piece - is glued to a little mirror, hence the blue reflection)

Cute & flowery
Okay, so it has been a while, but I've got my study room finally done! Looking at the cozy space with plenty of room to work, and all my supplies finally sorted neatly around, so they finally come handy without too much fuss, I cannot believe how I could put up with all that mess previously! :P
I haven't had much time for scrapping in the last few days, but I still even didn't get around taking the photos of the cards that I created lately.
Yet since I got myself a juicy bit of scrapbooking supplies and haven't yet had a chance to play with them, I suspect that I'll do my best to find the time!
The two sets that I'm going to show you today are actually the first ones that I made, when I got hooked on cardmaking. Maybe except from a few singles that I created before, for different occasions.
As I look at them and I see that so much changed since then lol!
I'm still quite happy with the overall feel to them though - they're simple, but simplicity is sometimes the key to a successful card.
I incorporated bits of fabric here and there - I think fabric is a wonderful, versatile addition to a card. It would often give a more textured look than a paper, that often strives itself to imitate the attractive texture that certain fabrics have.
Enjoy!

Just some quick cards
We've got a complete makeover madness in the house right now, that's why it's been a few days since I last posted. And this situation is going to be prolonged yet for a while more, I'm afraid...
I've been trying to find some time for a daily cardmaking, but now it just got too difficult, as we just started moving stuff out of the study, which is next in line :)
I'm still feeding you with the "old" sets, that I gradually now find more & more untidy lol.
My adventure with scrapbooking is still relatively short, but I learn a lot every day, and as I find out about some techniques, useful tools and various "essentials", my cards get a lot neater. They're still waiting to be photographed though, and this will not happen too soon.
*rolls eyes*
Now it's time for me to roll my sleeves up and get some more donkey work done, and for you I've got a quick set of cards.
Enjoy!

Buzzing around...
Today I'd like to share with you the set that I made with the beautiful "Bee Mine" kit by Bluedream Designs and a few more scraps and goodies that I found on the net (I'm sorry I don't remember where...)
All these papers have a really nice fabric texture to them!
Enjoy!

Another cheerful set
Just a few words of description, as I feel totaled tonight :)
We had a very busy day finishing with the bathroom makeover, and tomorrow we're going to IKEA (my absolutely favorite store!), so I better have an early night as it's a fair trip...
These ones I made a few weeks ago. It's the most "intensive" design that I came up with so far.
I think they would be great for children or teens, although they should basically suit any recipient and occasion thanks to "flexible" sentiments.
Although orange is definitely not in my top 10, and I consider it a hard colour to mix and match, I do like the effect, the cards look really cheerful.
Thanks for stopping by,
Chupa xx

Pink!
I made a set of cards with the colour scheme that I wouldn't normally use.
I'd usually go for pastels/neutrals rather than for brights like these, but I was feeling especially energetic on the day I made them, and I wanted to break the routine :)
I used quite a lot scalloping, perhaps too much, as my scalloping scissors broke during this project.
*laughs*
Anyway, take a look yourselves!
Wishing you all a happy weekend,
Chupa xx

Autumn memories
It is winter now in Australia.
Call it winter, it's much different to what I used to have back in Poland... (I moved to Oz just over a year ago, and already miss the mighty snow!)
Anyway, winter it is indeed, but with most of the trees retaining leaves, it reminds me more of autumn. And it's always been a much cherished season to me, if not a favorite. I just LOVE all the beautiful colours that the leaves turn to!
One day, after having a walk down the road, I came back home with all these colours in my mind, and decided to make a set of cards that would represent the richness of the season.
And here they are:
I don't yet have a hole puncher (I know it's a cheapie, I just haven't yet got time to visit an appropriate shop... *pouts*), so the holes in this one turned out pretty rough ;)
Again a bit messy with the scalloping here, I wouldn't know why the paper was misbehaving...
Hope you'll like them!

Just roses...
A set of two cards for today.
I must admit that I'm not quite satisfied with the outcome, especially that I used some lovely papers and ribbons... I had a shortage of supplies, but mainly it was just a quick, a bit careless work lol.
However if I turn a blind eye to the offhand bits, I like the touch of baroque richness in them. :P
Thanks for popping in!

A shabby entrée
I've got a fair number of cards lying around, ready to be photographed and uploaded.
I could go on and post the whole bunch of them at once, but I say, one thing at a time.
Actually, time is what I need most at the moment...
Being an (overjoyed) mum-to-be (a happy 30th week now - hoorayyy!) and having bold plans to renovate half of the house before our little girl arrives *rolls eyes*, I haven't got much free time on me.
Still, if one does not see me with a brush & painting the walls, or running around with some other tool in my hand, I'm probably buried under tons of papers, cardstock, and some more cute bits and pieces, and concocting another card... I'm a bad girl like this ;)
I'm a type of addict, and the addiction to improving our little nest tends to compete strongly with my scrapbooking passion lately...
Anyway, here's the first couple of sets of cards for you, that I made quite recently.
I wanted the first two to have a country, shabby look, and as much as I'm sure that's what I achieved, I also suspect that for some they may be a bit too much...
I must say I'm quite happy with the second set, it looks chic and feminine. And I love the butterflies. I think I found them on DeviantArt, but don't quote me on this...

Introduction
Firstly, let me clear out a few things - if you're looking for some fresh scrapbooking kits/elements to purchase, or a juicy freebie to grab, I'm afraid you won't find any here.
I don't do designing in this matter... not at the moment, maybe one day though! :)
This place is exclusively for inspiration (what some will eventually find here!) and enjoyment.
Whatever route it will follow in the course of time, I cannot say for sure. I'm a person of many interests, and I hope to one day try out a bit of everything that grabs my attention. Sounds like a long, but certainly adventurous way to go... :P
At the moment I'm hooked on cardmaking, so that's what you will mainly see in upcoming posts,
although I'm pretty sure that many other strange creations will appear on these pages eventually...
Secondly, in majority of cases I wouldn't be able to give you accurate information about the source of stock that I'm using, as it's either no-name stuff or I got it from gawd knows where (memory fails :P)... I'm definitely following the "cardmaking on a budget" scheme (at least at the moment), so it's unlikely that you find any brand names in my stock.
I own not a single stamp, not a single piece of rub-on sheet, no border punches, etc. What I often do though, is to browse magazines or internet in search for an image/sentiment that suits my project, and simply copy (redraw) it. It can be fun at times, and I'd always come up with something that looks somewhat different from the original ;)
I'm a sucker for free stuff too, so I browse my favorite places on the net frequently, snatching loads of decorative papers, die-cuts, cliparts, etc. that I then print out.
Hail all the generous people that don't stop presenting us with some wonderful stuff as well as with their amazing talents!
I'm also keenly visiting places like DeviantArt, and let me tell you, there is some really juicy stuff to be found there! Besides, it's an invaluable source of inspiration, no matter what kind of artsy/crafty thing one's after.
A quick note though: this "budget-tight" situation is by no means meant to be rigidly followed in the future, as I'm definitely going to purchase some stuff, in order to make my cardmaking aspect of life easier and even more enjoyable. So if you'll see some familiar stock used, that means I succeeded lol.
Stay tuned, and enjoy!
