A damask purse

I stumbled upon yet another sketch that brought to my mind something else than a card. This time it's Kazan's Sketch 34 from 2 Sketches 4 You. The half-circle would make up for a nice flap, I thought, and so I made a purse.
Here it is:

Photobucket

I like the way this challenge was designed, so that apart from the sketch, there is a choice of any inspiration to base one's creation on. I loved the team's examples, and certainly my love for damask is boundless, so I searched the net for some nice damask item to inspire me.
The choice was more than hard, but this invitation caught my eye instantly. I wouldn't rather think of yellow as a good complimentary colour for a classy blue & cream combination myself, but surprisingly it looks fantastic!
Embossing was done with the Fiskars embossing template. I just got it yesterday, and can't wait to use it wherever I can lol!

Thanks for peeping in!

Pretty In Pink

OMGosh I did it again - I mean yet another set with the pink theme... and I swear it's not even close to being my favourite colour lol!
Still, I like how it works with other colours, and that it can be very flexible - there are "powdery", pastel shades which suit wonderfully baby, shabby & romantic projects, there's a striking and hot pink for the ultimate girly look, and there are deep, purplish shades, that make the design look dignified.
Tonight I chose the last option to work with:

Photobucket

I made these for the "Movie Monday" challenge at 365 Cards. The movie to get us inspired is called "Pretty In Pink". I haven't seen it, but I do know the main actress, and I always liked her delicate beauty. The cards are thus inspired by her, rather than the oh-so-sweet pink that appears on the DVD covers, and reminds me too much of the 80's ;)
And that's about it, thank you for stopping by!

My Father's Day gift

It was just about time that I got around this lovely sketch from Our Creative Corner, and I'm glad that I made it, as it suited perfectly my idea of a Father's Day gift, that I was going to make for my wonderful dad-in-law this year.
I definitely wanted a bookmark or two to be the crucial element of it, because he's a devoted bookworm, and so the sketch made up for a great holder:

Photobucket

And here are the two bookmarks:

I hope my dad-in-law will like this little treat :)

Inviting spring ...and all the good things ;)

I've got yet another card for you tonight, and this time I used the sketch provided by Card Positioning Systems this week. Of course, I wouldn't be myself if I didn't modify it a bit, lol :)

Photobucket

I can't stop making bright cards lately... I guess that's good, as it reflects the state of mind that I'm in :)
Yet two more weeks to go for the birth, which means that it can happen any day now!
I'm very excited, like any first-time mum would be... my only concern is that I'll have much less time for cardmaking LOL (if any!).

Thanks for popping in!
Chupa xx

Retro!

I had a bit of a struggle with the Daring Cardmakers' last challenge called "Give them an Inchie!".
I never heard about inchies before, and they sounded like a fantastic idea to me, but unfortunately I couldn't pursue the style that I wanted to use, due to lack of an appropriate stamp...
I decided on a bit of an avant-garde instead, since inchies have an artsy feeling to them. Here's what I did with the theme:

Photobucket

I like bold colours and geometric shapes from the 60's and 70's, and I had a few samples of such designs, so I thought it would be nice to play with them.
The sentiment is hand-written.

Thanks for looking,
Chupa xx

Sentimental & folk

I'm glad that I finally found some time this weekend for cardmaking. And I like the card that I've just produced. Hopefully will make at least one more tonight, as I don't feel like my mojo has been satisfied yet :)
Here's the card:

Photobucket

For its layout I used the current Sunday's sketch from 365 Cards.
The Frangipani flower is made from resin, and it's pretty thick. It adds a wonderful dimension and texture to the card.
The rest is self-explanatory, me thinks :)
Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by, happy cardmaking!

It's a boy

Hopefully not though, as I'm counting on the ultrasound scans assuring me that I'm having a girl! :P
Yet, since I chose some more "boy-ish" colours for this card, I decided that I stick to that.

Photobucket

I made this one for the Cute Card Thursday's recent challenge called "New Beginnings". I might have one more go for it later, if the time lets me - but this time to commemorate my soon-ish arrival!
I also used this sketch from Friday Sketchers. As Claudia says in the post, it would constitute for a great scrapbooking layout too. One more reason to design one for myself, especially that there is a "Scrap It" challenge on Charisma Cards now...LOL!
Anyway, I hope you like the card!

Thank you for stopping by and commenting - much appreciated always,
Chupa xx

Simplicity does not mean boredom

Isn't this so true?
That's why I get constantly amazed by the beautiful creations of some SU! demonstrators. They must keep things simple so they don't force their clients into a 2-hour marathon with a single card, yet they're very well aware that fine craftsmanship along with a good choice of materials can do magic.
Why do I mention this? Because I like challenges of this sort, that keep my love for excessive matting and embellies on a tight leash. I imagine that creating a simple card can be a real challenge for many a cardmaker. And thus I'm really curious what the other participants in the White Space challenge over at 365 Cards will come up with.
Here's what I did with the sketch:

Photobucket

The lower ribbon shimmers in the light, because it's a gorgeous, soft velour. The other ribbon has a raised velour pattern too. They belong to a lovely set of 5 ribbons that I accidentally stumbled upon in a cheapie shop the other day, and didn't have a chance to use before :)

Thanks for looking, happy crafting!
Chupa xx

Happy b-day pink gurl!

I have no idea who that pink gurl is yet lol, but I'm pretty sure there's no shortage of teens with a special love for pink in this world :P
One thing that I'm sure of is that my last creation is definitely going to go to someone special, as I spent a long time this evening fiddling with it ;)
Here it is:

Photobucket

The card in a more detailed view:

Photobucket

Here's how the tag looks like:
(I made it from the leftover cutout of the bag handle - nothing gets wasted in Chupa's studio lol)

Photobucket

And here's how I finished the back:

Photobucket

I created this set to suit Sketch 29 at Card Patterns. DT girls all resigned from making cards this week, and designed some cute gift/treat bags instead. The players are, however, allowed to use the sketch to create a card, but I was so inspired by the team, that I decided to make a gift set with a bag too.
Also, I mentioned before that I recently found a marvelous challenge blog called Caardvarks, and already entered their recent challenge. This is my second go for it. Why? It's the delicious colour set that they gave us: black, white and hot pink. It's a very expressive combo, and very nice to work with. And so I did it again :)

Hope you liked it, thank you for peeping in and all your lovely comments!
Chupa xx

Double the fun

Finally... after the first, not-so-fortunate attempt to create a card with the sketch from Mojo Monday Week 101, I made it this time :) Moreover, I'm very happy with the result!
I merged it with the challenge called "Ruby, Cream and Gold" at Colour Create. I really like their colour choices - the last one was so stylish, and so is this one!
I decided on a classic Christmas card - aren't the given colours just perfect for this theme?

Photobucket

Apart from the "old gold" colours appearing on the trees and the mat, there is also a golden ribbon, and the snowflake is glittered. It shimmers beautifully :)

I liked the colours so much, that I wanted to give them another chance, but in a different style.
I remembered how nice it was to work with the vintage card yesterday, and also it bugged me that I never manage to apply a satisfying dose of shabbiness to emphasize the theme... I'd usually end up with a neat finish, which is fine, but not necessarily for retro and vintage.
So... I challenged myself, and I guess I can see some improvement now lol.
So, here's my second entry for Colour Create's challenge 26. Since it's purposely vintage, it will also qualify for another entry in 365 Cards' "Going Vintage" challenge:
Oh my... =P

Photobucket

Hope you find them inspiring!

Vintage pastels

The very fresh new challenge at 365 Cards is called "Going Vintage". Now, vintage is the word that makes Chupa's heart beat faster :P How could I possibly resist?
I have just created this card:

Photobucket

For some the DPs and the image might ring the bell, for not too long ago I designed a set of cards featuring both (the image is from the same gorgeous set, but it's not the exact one). Usually I'd let the stuff that I use "cool down" for a little while and use something else instead, but they were just perfect for the colour combo proposed this week by the Color Throwdown team: bashful blue, certainly celery and positively pink. It would be hard for me to find some papers that match their choice better.
I also made use of sketch #22, which is the theme of the recent challenge given by the Papertake Weekly Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, happy crafting!
Chupa xx

A game of checkers anyone?

I have made a similar card not so long ago... and I had a hard choice choosing the DPs to use, since I had a few yummy combinations in mind. No wonder the "Checkerboard Background" challenge from 365 Cards instantly brought my attention ;)
The requirement is to either use the paper with such design, or create one oneself. I chose the second option:

Photobucket

I just love these doodly flowers :)
Ah, the two brown "tiles" on the far left appear much darker, but they're the same colour as all the rest. I took the photo from the wrong angle, so that the distribution of the light is incorrect... oh well ;)
Hope you enjoy, and thanks for looking!
Chupa xx

A b-day card for a chook lover :)

Just how many challenges can one possibly incorporate into a single card?
Let me count... will four do? :P
It's nasty, lol I know I shouldn't do it... but as soon as I saw some of the tasks given to us this week on various blogs, I had this card in my mind immediately. Actually I could add one more to the list with this one, but I decided that four is far enough already :D
Here it is:

Photobucket

So which challenges I've got ticked with this one?
- Laura's sketch 33 from 2 Sketches 4 You. I altered it a bit, as I'd usually do ;)
- Challenge #30 called The Farm, hosted by Crafty Creations, which is about including anything inspired by the farm in the project. I assumed that a my chook would fit nicely :)
- Paper Piecing challenge over at Scrappy Frogs. This is going to be my second entry (see my turtle card for the 1st one), but as I stated already, I've never tried this technique before, and since I got hooked at the spot, I felt like I need to try it one more time...
- and lastly, "It's a Flower, But It's Not!" challenge at Paper Blooms, which is about using a flower in the way we wouldn't normally do. I loved the DT samples, they inspired me greatly!
Now, you're probably wondering where the said flower is?
Take a look at this close-up:

Photobucket

I used the crocheted flower for both the comb and wattle of my lil' chick =) Can you see it?
Hope you like my card, as I had so much fun creating it!

And just to finish this post nicely, I'd like to share some wonderful news with you:

Firstly, my baby has been in breech position for the last couple of weeks, which was making me sad as I hoped to avoid Caesarian section by any means, and today I found out that she turned head down! YAY!! Chupa mummy is going to have a natural birth! (about 3 weeks now) =D

Secondly, I am this week's featured artist on Paper Blooms! How cool is that?!
Their Design Team apparently liked my cotton buds holder lol!
THANK YOU WHOLEHEARTEDLY GIRLS!!!

Thank you for peeping in, happy crafting!

A circle, colour combo, and some bling

I must say that Tuesday Morning Sketches gave us a colour set this week, that is far out of my comfort zone. In spite of it, I decided that I give it a try - after all, the best challenges are those that actually challenge our creativity, innit?
The given colours are: Elegant Eggplant, Certainly Celery & Kraft.
Here's what I came out with:
(I'm sorry for the poor quality of the picture, it came out blurred, and sharpening didn't help all that much)

Photobucket

The sentiment says "have a great day!", in case it's hard to decipher.
I don't have SU papers, so I chose the similar colours from my stash. There are a few complimentary colours too, the main one being black. I thought that it would soothe nicely the strong impact of purple.

I'm also submitting the card to the "C is for Circles" over at ABC Challenge.
The parts of the image in the circle have been either glittered (flower & leaves), or painted with metal paint (background & stem, which represents "Kraft"). While the glittery parts are sparkling a lot, the metal paint has a delicate, soft shimmer to it.
Shame that it's hard to see that on the photo...

(Too) shabby ;)

I've just made a card for new the week's Mojo Monday sketch ... and I must admit that I'm not overly happy with it. I was pretty satisfied with the outcome, until I painted the swirly doodles with my watercolours. They came out a bit crooked, so in attempt to make it look more decent, I applied some more water, and thus the final effect is far from being perfect...
Well, I decided that I'd share it with you anyway, since I spent some time working on the card this afternoon, and I still like the rest of the card.
I'm not entering the challenge with it though - I might have another, more fortunate go for it later :P

Photobucket

Thanks for looking,

Thank you Kathe!

Today I received my precious prize that I won over at CCT - the most wonderful stamp set,
which was kindly donated by Kathe from The Angel Company. Let me just say - HOORAY!! :)
It arrived with this wonderful card:

Photobucket

Isn't it just TOO cute? =)

I encourage you to visit the shop, and also stop by Kat's blog, as she's also a great cardmaker!

Of course, I had to try them immediately, lol, and so I put together a card for her:
THANKS CHICK!!

Photobucket

I used this sketch from The Pink Elephant. Well, quite loosely... :P
Also, I'm entering this card into 365 Cards' challenge called "Monogram Monday".
Gosh, I'm having trouble lately keeping up with their daily yummy challenges...

Thanks for stopping by, and happy cardmaking!

Cuteness appreciation day

Well, looks like such day it is for me =)
All three cards that I made today are brimming with cuteness...
It's strange that when I started my cardmaking journey, I was sure that I'd go mostly for my favourite, romantic & shabby, "arsenic and old lace" style, rather than constantly creating cards like these...
I guess I'm discovering my other self :)

Photobucket

This card is another triple challenge creation.
- it uses the Mojo Turns 100 - Day 7 sketch;
- it's also the answer to The Scrappy Frogs Challenge blog's recent challenge that is about paper piecing;
- and lastly the chosen theme suits Stamp Something's "Birthday Somethings" challenge.

This is the first time that I tried out the paper piecing technique, and I admit that it's a lot of fun! The bad side is that it takes more time than usually to create a card that features this element. It's definitely worth the effort though.

Thank you for peeping in, and happy cardmaking!

Baby bear revisited

Remember this card of mine? The little bear image was so adorable, that I decided to make another card with a similar one :)
The card is based on Karen's great sweet sunday sketch #32. Thanks Karen, I love working with your sketches!
Also, I found a new challenge blog, that apparently is a very popular place for cardmakers / papercrafters. It's called caardvarks and has the cutest colour combo offered for the participants this week: black, white, and hot pink. So, as one would expect, I also used them in my design:

Photobucket

Now that I see the picture, the pink may not be as "hot" as it's expected, but it does look more saturated and... pink-ish in reality, so the mauve reflections are the work of the daylight rather than the paper being dull itself.
Hope you'll like it!

Wubulously colourful card

I had a 2-day break from cardmaking, and let me tell you, it hurt :)
I'm back though with my first card today - and this one is so bright and colourful, that I surprised even myself, haha! Definitely not a treat to suit everybody's taste...

Photobucket

I made it to suit three fresh new challenges:
- the New In-Colors Challenge from Our Creative Corner, featuring six color releases from SU. It would be an understatement to say that it's a hard combo to work with - they're all very rich and saturated - hence my card! You made me do this, girls! LOL
- a nice CPS 130 sketch from Card Positioning Systems;
- an Inspiration Challenge from 2 Red Bananas, since the given photo has almost exactly the same colours that I was given to work with!
And that's about it - enjoy!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!

Another dimensional card

My next creation is a take on two challenges: Just Peachy on 365 Cards, and The Anniversary Waltz on Daring Cardmakers.
I decided to go for a dimensional card again - I found a nice article in last month's Australian cardmaking magazine with several different examples of such cards, and I'm planning to try them all. They're fun to make, and as easy as some designs are, additional dimension can change a whole lot, don't you think?

Photobucket

It's pretty simple, so I don't think there's need to explain anything :)
Hope you like it!

Thank you so much for stopping by,

Christmas in August

Simon Says Stamp gave us a Christmas-themed challenge this week. And as one would expect, Chupa came out with a card :)
Here it is:

Photobucket

The design is based on the fresh new sketch proposed by Carole on the Friday Sketchers blog.
I simplified it a bit to suit my needs.
As you probably noticed, there is some glitter on this card - in the centre and along the central veins of the Poinsettia flower, and on the berries of Holly.

If my favorite challenge blogs keep coming up with Christmas themes, I might just have enough cards prepared to be sent to everybody in the family when the time comes... :)

Thanks for stopping by,
Chupa xx

There's always time for summertime :)

What a surprise - there's another summer themed challenge this week :))
This one comes from Cute Card Thursday and is called Lazy Dayz!
I was thinking what I'm going to go for this time, and I chose some scrumptious images of watermelon - YUM! *rubs tummy*
I also followed the very summery colours given to us in this week's challenge on Charisma Cardz, which are: lemon, green and pink.
Finally, I decided to arrange everything after the Day 4 sketch of Mojo Monday's 100th challenge celebration. I was very happy to get around this sketch, as I had no chance to play with any of the previous ones - they disappear so quickly, lol!
Here's the card:

Photobucket

Although it may not be too apparent, there is quite elaborate layering here... took me ages to cut all the papers! :)
The sentiment is a sticker - easy peasy job, and the colour fits perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by!

Blooms in teal and coral

Ahh I'm really happy with this card - although I had some hard time rummaging through my DP's, trying to find something suitable for the newest colour combo from the Color Throwdown...
I love their challenges - the choices of colours are usually non-standard and intriguing, and I find them really... challenging lol, especially that I haven't yet had a chance to try any of the SU papers that they base their colour picks on.
Here's what I came up with:

Photobucket

I also used this lovely sketch from The Sweetest Thing, that I've been planning to fiddle with since the respective challenge was posted.
The sentiment is, of course, a SU inventory, but it's hand-written (I don't own one).
The basket of flowers is coloured with watercolour pencils. I haven't blended them though, as I wanted to retain the crisp brightness of the colours.
Hope you enjoyed, and thank you for peeping in,
Chupa xx

Mamma mia, it's all too much heaven for meh! (and some more cards too)

My joy is boundless, and my surprise even greater - my card was chosen for the Top 5 in The Pink Elephant challenge 27! I'm in a total, uncontrollable madness right now, I'm telling you! :D
And this award means the world to me, as I'm in a deep awe and respect for the talent of the TPE Design Team.
Thank you so much girls - yay, me has now another precious banner, lol!
*takes a deep breath*

Okay, it's time to show you some new creations too.
It's been a very productive (read: card-making) day for me... since my baby was kicking me mercilessly and I had a nasty heartburn, I couldn't think of doing anything serious, so I spent basically the whole day leisurely doing what Chupa enjoys best.
(Got to love the subtlety of the late pregnancy though...)
The quick card below I made with no particular challenge in mind, just wanted to use the cute image of teddy bears, but to my joy it fits perfectly the newest "B is for buttons" post on ABC Challenge that I have stumbled upon a little while ago... why wouldn't I take this opportunity then? :) Especially that the card has (putting it lightly) a few buttons here and there...

Photobucket

Just to clarify, it's not meant for my brother, since I don't have one, but the bears didn't quite look like females to me :) Well, I'm sure sooner or later it will prove useful for someone else.

The second card I created for the Crafty Creations last challenge called "Tags", but again it has some buttons, so this one could as well have a go as the second entry in ABC :)

Photobucket

I really like the way this one turned out - it has some striking colour combination, and it's quite heavy (heavier cards are more sturdy and also usually look better, at least in my case).

On the side note: I'm spontaneously coming up with so many child-related projects lately, that one would think that I'm expecting one, lol :)
These are going to be my last cards for tonight - it's quite late and I'm sleepy, besides - there's always tomorrow!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog, I'm thrilled with the number of visitors and with the loveliest comments that I keep getting. You never fail to brighten my day!

Blooming cherries again

Japanese art is so unique and masterly, that rarely anybody wouldn't like it.
I like coming back to my richly ornamented origami papers, drawings of cherry trees in bloom, and scroll art samples every now and then, if only to look at them for a while.
I decided to go for a quasi-Japanese look in my latest card. Of course, it can only mean arranging together some elements of a distinct oriental look - I'm leaving serious attempts in copying the style for the true artists :P

Photobucket

The image of the cherry tree branch is downloaded from the internet, and the edge of it has been sponged. The sign means "love" (in Japanese, of course). The patterned paper is an original origami paper brought from Japan - it's a traditional design that's been used for centuries.

I'm entering this card into the last challenge in 2 Sketches 4 You, since I used the sketch provided.
Thanks for stopping by!
Chupa xx

A card with an overtone

Hello again! It wasn't a long time since my last post, now was it? :P
This card was a real quickie though.
I created it to match this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches - it's simple yet elegant, and leaves us with endless choices regarding the theme, so I decided that I gave it a little twist :)

Photobucket

Ok, so you may say it's just a regular "thinking of you" card. And it can be, of course. But isn't this blood-red chiffon ribbon a little disturbing? Tickling the senses?
One may ask, "what is the person giving me this card really thinking about..?"
I hope the recipient of this card will catch this subtle allusion :P

Got to love flexibility like this :)

So great to see that the Papertake Weekly is celebrating a 100th challenge event! :)
(on the side note: did you notice that several blogs have had the same celebration lately?)
I love them for the challenge that was chosen for this occassion - Take Your Pick, which means that we've got the freedom to re-do any past challenge, and that leaves us with the choice of 99 of them!
*rolls eyes*
Now, this immediately planted in my mind this cunning plan (Blackadder anybody? :P)
Some of you might be familiar with this card of mine that I entered for Mojo Monday 98 about two weeks ago.
I mentioned that it's actually a part of the project that I'm still working on, and will share the rest as soon as it's finished. The reason why it hasn't happened yet is that I was incredibly procrastinating this...
That's what happens to me when I'm working on something that means a lot to me, and I want to do my very best to make it look decent :P
This is meant for a birthday present for my mum, that's two weeks from now, and I knew I really need to finish it soon as the parcel has to be sent to Poland, and it usually takes some more time than it should :)
So in the end, Papertake Weekly gave me an excellent reason to do it - I found their challenge from 16 February, 2009 called A Perfect Match, that is about creating a matching set of some kind. I finished the remaining cards today then, for the purpose of giving this challenge a go, since I didn't want this project left without allowing it for any such chance lol! *evil grin*
(except for the previously posted card, of course)

But enough of talking, on to the set...
I made a little book to house the cards, which was inspired by this gorgeous set made by talented Andrea Walford:

Photobucket

Its cover is very sturdy, as I cut it out from the thick cardboard used for matting pictures. Here's the back view:

Photobucket

The flaps are tied together with a silk ribbon:

Photobucket

There are two sizes of cards grouped together, and each group sits in the pocket made of an elastic lace, of the kind they use to make garters. It holds the cards firmly together , yet it's gentle enough for paper, so I don't have to worry that it's going to damage any of them.

Photobucket

Finally, below you'll find all the cards in the set, including the one that's already been used in another challenge and has to be omitted in the current entry (I'm putting it as the last one in the row):

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

The sentiment on this one says "I Love You" in Polish:

Photobucket

...and this one means "For You":

Photobucket

Lastly, the previous "Mojo Monday" card:

Photobucket

I hope you enjoyed this post, as it took me a while to prepare for it and put it together lol!
Thanks for stopping by, and again for all your lovely comments,
Chupa xx

Hooray, what a happy day!

Today has been deliciously good for me for several reasons. One of them being a stunning set of ribbons that I found in the cheapie shop, stumbling upon them quite unexpectedly. Got to love surprises like this lol. I can't wait to use them!
The other one made my day - I made it to the Top Trio in 365 Cards with my bee-ing friends card! Let me tell you, I didn't expect it at all. I'm still a newbie to the cardmaking world, and many of the fellow ladies have been creating cards for years. It truly is an honour to have the COTW blinkie on my blog, thank you!

I took part in their last challenge too, it says Triangle-Sticker-Button, which means that all three must be found on my card.
Let's see - the button is in the centre of the flower:

Photobucket

This type of card is called a triangle tri-fold card, so yep, there are a few triangles here:

Photobucket

And finally, the sentiment is printed on a clear sticker:

Photobucket

All ticked.
If anyone is interested in a tutorial showing how to make a card like this, here's a nice one made by Beate. It's a piece of cake!

Thank you for visiting,

Say...summer!

I remember working on a Christmas project earlier today, and now I've just finished a summer card. Moreover - winter here in Oz is about to finish soon, but already it feels like proper spring with the world bursting with blooms all around, and at Christmas time, instead of making a snowman and having snow-balls fights, we're probably going to fry ourselves again under the scorching sun.
Sometimes I think it's all too confusing for meh poor self... :P

But to the merit of the post - the card I created is my response to the Pink Elephant's team fresh challenge. As one would figure out, it says SUMMER. I gather this is at least the third challenge of this sort that I've stumbled upon in the last week or so. Is this the first sign of nostalgia for the passing by summer in the Northern Hemisphere? :)
The card also follows the last sketch by Card Positioning Systems. I really like working with their sketches!
Here's the card:

Photobucket

The ice-cream tops are glittered, but there is much less sparkle visible on the photo than there really is.

Thanks for looking,
Chupa xx

Love bug

Quite a few sketches around on the challenge blogs this week, eh? :)
2RedBananas gave us a lovely one for Banana Split Sunday, and of course, I gave it a go lol.
I got it a little revamped though - added a few additional embellies here and there.
Enjoy!

Photobucket

Thanks for peeping in,
Chupa xx

First Christmas-related gift done :)

As soon as I saw this sketch for the Art Glitter Week in 365 Cards, I got inspired by it greatly.
Only that I imagined it being perfect for a card holder, not a card itself. The buckle, the way the papers have been aligned - everything was telling me that it's not the card that is the true destiny for the sketch :P
And so I spent some time fiddling with it today, along with creating an assortment of cards that I would put inside.
As I needed some leitmotiv for the set, I decided to use the current OCC Challenge called Christmas In August. After all, I'm going to have a baby any day now, so I better start thinking about Christmas presents or I might find no time for this later!
Here's the box:

Photobucket

The two little magnets, as you can see below, keep the flap and the rest of the box together:

Photobucket

Here's what the whole set consists of:

I know what you're thinking about this project - it looks very Stampin' Up!, doesn't it? :P
It is an intended effect though. I like the way some talented SU Demonstrators create their sets of cards, they're looking crisp and neat, and really stunning. I hope I managed to get somewhat close to them lol.

Below you can see a detailed view of each card in the box:

Now I've got to pick the recipient that's going to get these :)
It would do well as a birthday present that one gets somewhat before Christmas, so that the person can actually use these cards, sending them to family or friends. Unless that someone would like to keep them for themselves lol.
I hope you enjoyed my creation!

Thanks for looking,
Chupa xx
