TSG118 - Summer Celebration

For this week's chalenge at the TSG blog, our featured Trendsetter, Corinna, is challenging us to create a card that Celebrates Summer! From ice cream cones to camping and everything else in between, the possibilities are endless! Have fun and we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

For my sample, I dusted off the fabulous, but slightly forgotten Bee Happy mini set.
It's really a quick card... I used that same sheet of patterned paper, for my background and focal panel, and only added the sentiment and the bees.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: recycled kraft, cream; paper: Prima; stamps: There She Goes (Bee Happy); ink: Memento (Rich Cocoa, Tuxedo Black); Copics; brads; grosgrain ribbon

I used Karen's SSSC128 sketch:

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that celebrates Summer, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (August 8). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG118 so we can check out your beautiful work!

Thanks for visiting!! :)

Featured Stamper cards

Ha, told ya'! :) There just had to be an evening's post coming tonight...
The cards that I've got to share, are both for this week's Featured Stamper challenge at SCS (FS234). Amy's gallery is full of gorgeous stuff, and I couldn't resist picking two cards for my inspiration. I only adjusted the colours, so that I'm also able to play with some of my favourite colour challenges :)

First one, inspired by Amy's Love Nature card:

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: SU! (River Rock, Soft Suede); paper: DCWV; stamps: PTI (Out On A Limb Sentiments, Mat Stack 1 - with die, Fancy Flourishes); ink: Memento (Rose Bud), Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap), Versa Magic (Wheat); sewing machine

I "cheated" with the butterfly... it's cut out from the beautiful DCWV paper :)
The colours (roughly followed), come from CTD152. I'm also entering the card into A Passion For Papertrey's Sky's The Limit challenge.

Then, there is this little number, that was inspired by Amy's beautiful You're Special card.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: cream, white; paper: The Girls' Paperie, SEI; stamps: Flourishes (Thank You); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa), Distress Ink (Pumice Stone); Copics; Nestabilities Labels 14; Pearls: AnnaBelle Stamps; grosgrain ribbon; lace: Kaisercraft

Here the colours are also quite freely interpreted, I'm afraid... they come from CR84FN35. My tulip turned out much warmer in purple hues, than I wish it did :) Also, my grays are very warm.

Thank you so much for paying me a visit tonight! I surely hope that I inspired you, if only in a bit :) Have a lovely rest of the weekend,

Happy Sunday, friends! I hope you're making the most of it!
Mine is about to finish soon, but I'm hoping to get some stamping done tonight, so stay tuned - there might be a post coming some time :)
In continuation of yesterday's post, I'm bringing you another card, prepared for Splitcoast Stampers' Dare To Get Dirty 2011.
Each set of challenges unveils at 8 am Central Time here at SCS, and one of today's challenges is hosted by Christina Fischer (CMF1216). You'll have to visit the link above, to see what kind of challenge that is!

I used a plethora of Glitz Design goodness here... and quite a lot of distressing! *hint hint*

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: white; paper: Glitz Design; stamps: The Craft's Meow, Glitz Design; ink: Memento (Rich Cocoa), Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap); Liquid Pearls (Pewter); lace trim; string; sewing machine; paper flower

I'm entering my card into Card Patterns sketch 126 challenge:

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #22

Hi again, peeps! I'm chiming in with a new sketch, I hope you'll like it!
I've been waiting with my sample until a late hour (actually, I've been cutting into paper for a couple of hours tonight, but we've been chatting away with hubby and my attention has been heavily compromised :)
I can't stop thinking about a nice warm bed now, so I'll spare myself the pain of waiting and get straight to the point! Here's the sketch:

My card, also inspired by TSTR72 - Relax and Enjoy.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Canson (yellow), SU! (Old Olive), DCWV (pink), white; paper: My Mind's Eye (Stella & Rose); stamps: PTI (Turning A New Leaf), Waltzingmouse Stamps (Vintage Labels 14), Grace Taylor (Celebrate); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black, Bamboo Leaves), Versa Color (Cinnamon), Versa Magic (Pink Grapefruit); Nestabilities Ovals/Labels 14; organza ribbon; Cuttlebug embossing folder (Swiss Dots); felt; flower die: EZCut; buttons; sewing machine; sticker: Pink Paislee Artisan Elements; mulberry flower

Here's the inspiration from The Shabby Tea Room:

---------------------------------------------------

A few things to keep in mind if you decide to use my sketch:
- You're kindly asked to save the image onto your computer first, and if you make a card based on it, please link back to this post.
- If you upload your card to an online gallery, please use the code SSC22.
- Please share the link to your creation via the Inlinkz widget, so that I can come and check it out. I would love to see what you did with it!
- The colours/elements mean nothing towards the card. All styles, colours and supplies, as well as slight alterations of the sketch are welcome.
- A new sketch and sample is posted every Saturday, but you're welcome to play any time! Just leave a link in the comments section after Inlinkz widget closes.

Have fun :)

With my unconditional love for patterned paper, I couldn't find this challenge easier. I just pulled out some colourful stuff, and the rest of the card practically designed itself around it :)

Photobucket

Designs; ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black); sewing machine; brads; grosgrain ribbon; staples; button; string: AnnaBelle Stamps; resin flower; white pen: Uniball Signo

I used the MOJO201 sketch:

Good morning, sweets! I'm quickly popping in with a card that I made yesterday, but with all the stuff that came on my blog I decided to keep it from blogging until today.
Make sure you'll scroll down for the TSG Blog Hop posts, as well as the CASE Study card and lots more!

CASE Study Challenge #50!

For my TSG Zoo-pendous Blog Hop post, please click HERE or scroll down. Thank you :)

We're up to the 50th challenge at CASE Study, can you believe it?? Moreover, August is our Anniversary month, and my little blog will turn One! We are holding a Blog Hop on the 4th of August, with the DT gals and our previous Muses, and LOTS of YUMMY prizes!
You can read more about it here. I sincerely hope that you'll join in :)
Here's the badge for you to grab, if you'd like to help us spread the word!

CASE Study Anniversary Blog Hop
On another note, there's still a lot to look forward to in July... how about another portion of inspiration from Dawn Woleslagle, our July Muse?

I SO knew that I'm going to use this card for an inspiration, when I saw it on Dawn's blog. It's perfectly CAS, and you know that I've been challenging myself to clean & simple. Sometimes I think I do well, sometimes I definitely don't, but I think this little number is one of my better takes :)
I'm normally scared of white cards, also because I'm having a hard time photographing them against the white wall. Again, this time it wasn't so bad!

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Aqua Mist), white; stamps: The Craft's Meow (Celebrating You); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black), PTI (Fresh Snow); Copics; Cuttlebug embossing folder (Distressed Stripes); Sprinkles: AnnaBelle Stamps; corner rounder: EK Success

I took the sketch from CPS228, and the colour inspiration from Tuesday Trigger: Squares to Cherish:

I'd love you to visit the rest of the CASE Study Design Team's blogs, to see what they cooked up with the inspiration...

Amy Wanford
Andrea Ewen
Clare Buswell
Cristina Kowalczyk
Debby Hughes
Jean Martin (taking a break)

If you'd like to play along with us, hop over to the CASE Study blog, where you'll find all the details, fabulous inspiration and Linky tools to link up your creation!
Thanks for stopping by, and make sure you'll see what else I've been up to lately... boy has it been a busy week :)

TSG Zoo-pendous Blog Hop

The last day of There She Goes new release sneaks dawned upon us :) The set that we're showing you today, is my favourite in the lot. I hope you'll love it too!
You should have come here from Holly's blog, but if you want to join in the fun, or get lost on the way, please refer to the TSG Blog for the complete Blog Hop list and details.

Peacocks, and hippos and snakes, oh my! Judy Rozema was our lucky winner from this year’s Mother Of All Blog Hops and one of her prizes was the chance to work with TSG to design a stamp set in a theme of her choice. She said that she would like a fun zoo stamp set that incorporated some animals that are different than you might find in other stamp sets and we knew just who the perfect illustrator would be for this! Melyssa’s adorably whimsical zoo animals will have you going wild!

Zoo-pendous is a 6x8 set that will sell for $24.

No blabber this time... I'll just show you what I've got!

LinkPhotobucket

Supplies: cardstock: SU! (Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight), Canson (blue), white; stamps: There She Goes (Zoo-pendous); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black); Copics; sewing machine; Cuttlebug embossing folder (Distressed Stripes); grosgrain ribbon; pom-pom trim; rhinestones: Kaisercraft; Nestabilities Labels 18/Ovals/Scalloped Ovals

Those animals are friggin' adorable, right?? :)
For my layout, I used SSS118, and for my colours CC333: Island Tango Delight.

Would you like a chance to win the Zoo-pendous stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Zoo-pendous Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own Zoo-pendous stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (July 30th) during the Release Party Chat!

Next stop is at the wonderful Jessica's blog. Happy hopping!

CAS-ify me - Waltzingmouse sketch

Helloo! I'm sneaking in VERY quickly, before the madness starts! (the last day of TSG sneak peeks and a new CASE Study challenge is about to launch soon)
Here's a classic in-betweener, a card that came together fairly quickly (well, cutting out the flowers was a tedious part ;))

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Aqua Mist, Rustic White); stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps (Fancy Phrases, Asian Gardens); ink: Versa Magic (Pink Grapefruit, Turquoise Gem, Sea Breeze); corner rounder: EK Success

The layout is based on WMSC57, although I did my tweaks, as I do :)
I turned the sketch to make it vertical, and changed the position of the sentiment, to suit my card better.
The colours are taken from cQc#95.

See you in a bit! I hope you'll come and see what else I've got for you today :)

Charming

For my TSG Float My Boat Blog Hop post, please click HERE. Thanks!

I've got an evening card tonight! Pretty incredible, considering that I'm in the middle of a very busy time, and finished it this evening, along with tomorrow's TSG Blog Hop sample and a CASE Study card. Now I've got a TON of scheduling to make, but before I get into the tedious bits, I wanted to show you the said little creation.
(Oh noes! NO stamping involved!)

Supplies: cardstock: American Crafts (black), recycled kraft; paper/label: My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found - Union Square); transparencies: Glitz Design (Laced With Grace); pearls: AnnaBelle Stamps; border punch: EK Success; sewing machine; organza ribbon; button; seam binding

I haven't made my own embellies for TOO long (I admit it, I'm lazy), so I decided it's time to kick myself in the butt and found the current CARDS blog challenge a perfect excuse. Paige is asking for gathered ribbon flowers, and I picked some red organza to make mine. It's really quite quick to make and pretty easy, so here's to hoping that I won't forget about this technique :)

The sketch that I used is VLVJul2011 Week 4. True to Chupa style, a perfectly free take.

Also, since it happens to meet the criteria, I'm linking this one into OCC's "All the B's" challenge (black, button, bling, bow)
I hope you'll have a fabulous day... see you tomorrow!

TSG Float My Boat Blog Hop

Welcome to Day 2 of There She Goes new release sneak peeks! I hope you enjoyed yesterday... there's more fabulousness to come, I assure you!!
You should have come here from Holly's blog, but if you want to join in the fun, or get lost on the way, please refer to the TSG Blog for the complete Blog Hop list and details.

Awhile back Torico had posted some of her sketches on her Facebook page and this adorable boy and his puppy got lots of attention! So many of you said that it needed to be made into a stamp and we agreed. Not only is this mini set great by itself but it can also be combined with many of Torico’s other TSG stamp sets for even more versatility!

Float My Boat is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 9 stamps and will sell for $7.

I wanted to make the waves out of cardstock, with the negative scallops, but my puches don't make them, unfortunately. I thought that the eyelet scallops would look fun too, and so that's what I did.
I cut out the boy's hands, so that he appears to be reaching into the sea. I stamped some fishies from Best Fishes, as if they're coming closer to meet the lil' guy :)
I also stamped the birds from By The Sea, on the sky. There are birds images in the new set too, but I wanted to show you the versatility of the sets.
The clouds are cut out of the cardstock, and dotted with Ice Stickles.

LinkPhotobucket

Supplies: cardstock: American Crafts (navy blue, teal), white; paper: My Mind's Eye; stamps: There She Goes (Float My Boat, Best Fishes, By The Sea); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black); Copics; burlap; baker's twine; sewing machine; button; Ice Stickles; paper piercer

I used SSSC127 for my layout:

Would you like a chance to win the Float My Boat stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Float My Boat Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post.
