Hero Arts contest projects

Hi again,
I know there's been a large number of posts on my blog in the last day or two, my apologies if you feel like I'm spamming your Google Reader :)
I can't quite say I'll be slowing down, as I'm planning to play with today's PTI anniversary challenge as well, so there should be another post coming in a couple of hours.
I keep losing followers - if it's due to me being "over-active", then however unfortunate it is, this is just how I roll and I respect those for whom it may be too much.

BUT, back to the business :) Part one of the February Hero Arts contest is coming to an end very soon, so I thought I'd make a project or two, as I'm less likely to have the time to contribute to the second part. I made a tag and a card, with two of the beautiful sketches they provided.

First up, the tag. Very simple thing, I coloured the flowers with Copics and added some sponging around them.

Supplies: cardstock: white, SU! (Not Quite Navy); paper: My Mind's Eye; stamps: Hero Arts (Three Flowers, Frame a Message); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Versa Color (Sky Blue, Cyan); Dog Tag/Tag You're It/Dainty Dots Border dies: MFT Die-Namics; Copics; button: Basic Grey; cotton string; checked ribbon

I also used the juicy colours from PDCC118:

Next, the card. I used the "embossing with dies" technique, to frame the image.
For the Cuttlebug, the sandwich is as follows: A Plate, die (face up), paper, tan mat (I use two); two B Plates.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: SU! (Baja Breeze), Canson (grey), white; vellum: Grant; stamps: Hero Arts (Dancing With Flowers, Happy Hello); ink: VersaMark; white embossing powder; Nestabilities Labels 18; buttons

The colour inspiration for my card, comes from ric#5. I used vellum to imitate the knee-long socks and transparent blouse, that the girl is wearing.

Thanks for looking, see you later!

  3. Hi Chupa,
I have been following your blog for a while now but I noticed yesterday that I had not acutally clicked to become a follower. Well that is remedied now.
I love both of your creations, they are fabulous interpretations of the given images and so cheerful.
    All the best Linda

  4. You do blog a lot but don't ever apologise for it - if I get behind then I just whizz through them quickly in my reader and only open any that really catch my eye.
Love your take on the sketch - I played along with this challenge for the first time this month too.

  11. Hi Chupa! I love the soft look of your card, and I totally forgot that you could emboss with a die! I think I learned it a while back on someone's blog, and at the time I didn't have any dies so I never thought about it again....until now! I'll definitely have to try this.

Thanks so much for the inspiration, and for playing along with the Runway Inspired Challenge!

  13. This is adorable, Chupa! I love the white silhouette in the frame. I am SO glad you posted the technique because I did that once "by accident" to make a frame and haven't been able to remember how to do it since!! :)
