The Shabby Tea Room March Guestie - Week 2

It's the second week in The Shabby Tea Room, with me as a Guest Designer!
This week the theme is "Spring Is Near", and we're asked to draw inspiration from the photo below, using at least three of the colours and dry embossing.

I discovered a pretty neat trick, while working on this card. I embossed a piece of green cardstock, with the Herringbone embossing folder, and cut out the leaves by hand, so that the pattern creates the veins. I think it looks fantastic, and I'll make sure I keep this idea for future reference.

Supplies: cardstock: SU! (Soft Suede), green & brown scraps; papers: My Mind's Eye (Miss Caroline); stamps:PTI (Simple Sunflower); ink: Memento (Bamboo Leaves, Rose Bud, Cantaloupe); Cuttlebug embossing folder (Herringbone); lace: October Afternoon; sewing machine; border punch: EK Success

For the layout, I used the beautiful DS42 sketch below:

Hop on over to The Shabby Tea Room for more inspiration, and to link up your entry! Thanks for your comments! Peace out,
