Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 97

Hi there! This is my second post for tonight, so please scroll down if you don't want to miss my Sketchbook post!
Here's the newest Waltzingmouse sketch, I hope you'll join us!

I couldn't resist making this sketch vertical. I admit that I have an obsession with vertical cards and I don't really want to cure myself :)
It's so hard for me to make a horizontal card that I find appealing... do you also experience something similar??

I kept my card simple. I used the stamps from the French Country set, and a piece of patterned paper from October Afternoon. When I'm after homespun look, OA is always a perfect choice!
I stamped the lace in Versa Magic Oasis Green, the sentiment in grey Memento and the rooseter in black Versafine. I added a simple hemp cord accent, which I tied into a knot, rather than a bow. All edges were distressed with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.

I'm entering this card into the Doilies & Lace Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Hop over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch blog, to see more from the Mischief Makers!

  1. Fab card, love the layering of the papers.

  2. I have such a hard time with horizontal cards, TOO, Chupa! So glad I saw your card because I haven't made mine yet, and maybe this will help me out! Love that beautiful blue stripe with the patterned paper you chose. And any card with Mr. Rooster means that I am instantly in love :)!

  3. Wonderful card and take on the sketch! Love the green lace. TFS

  4. Wonderful choice of papers and the little "french hen" is adorable :)

  5. Love these colors and the French Country border is a FAV!! Wonderful as always!

  6. This is gorgeous! I do like the colours you've used and the vertical shape works brilliantly!

  7. This is so pretty, Chupa! I love the colors!!

  8. So pretty! Love the lace and the papers you used with the rooster!
