I have a pleasure to share that the immensely talented Joy Taylor will be our inspiration this month. So, so happy about it!!
I can sniff Joy's cards from afar. She has a unique ability to use busy patterns with clean style and make them sing. I can't think of many who could tackle Basic Grey on CAS with such style... happy sigh :)
For the inaugural piece of artwork I chose this purple beauty:

OK, there's nothing I wouldn't LOVE on this card. Starting from my favourite element as of lately - flag banner, through stripes and a fav Hero Arts butterfly. I adore rosettes as well, but I admit to being pretty scared by them. Yes, still... I would like to say that I'm working on it, but not just yet I'm afraid... yikes :)
Instead, I chose to use a die cut (cut with Eyelet Circles).

I coloured the flutterby from HA Antique Engravings set, with Copics and popped it onto the silhouette cut with Wonderful Wings Shapeabilities®. The strip of light pink cardstock was stamped in pink with Designer Woodblock, also from Hero Arts. The sentiment (HA, Year Round Sentiments), finishes the card.
I wouldn't have it without a few challenges smuggled in, and here they are:
