Love notes

Here's my last post for you tonight! If you're interested, check out also my Guest Designer post and some publications shared below :)

I know it's well past Valentine's Day, but I haven't yet have the chance to ink up my new WPlus9 A Pocketful: Valentine stamp set and I was itching to do so. I chose to work with the VLVFeb2012 Week 4 sketch, as it suited my idea for a simple masculine card. I also incorporated the Cure for the Winter Blues Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. Again, perfect colours for what I had in mind.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Enchanted Evening), white; stamps: WPlus9 (A Pocketful: Valentine); ink: Ancient Page (Cobalt), Memento (Tuxedo Black), PTI (Fresh Snow); Copic (N0); impression plate/tag die: PTI; baker's twine; Nestabilities Circles

This card is all about the texture and I gave my Cuttlebug a good workout. I haven't replaced my plates since I bought the Bug two years ago and poor things are nearly at the point of breaking... how grateful I am for the soon-to-get Grand Calibur from Spellbinders! lol!

Here's the sketch:

See you tomorrow, have a great day!

Addicted to Cards Guestie

Uh-oh, I'm back quicker than I thought, 'cause I totally forgot to share a card... if you missed my previous post, which is likely in these circumstances, please scroll down.

I was approached by the designers from the Brazilian card challenge blog, Addicted to Cards, and asked whether I could host a challenge for them. Of course I was happy to help, and I chose an inspiration from Pinterest:

What a dreamy photo. The most luscious pink & the crispy white, with pops of black... and don't forget the bike! I took the flowers and the colours from the photo:

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: cream; papers/die cuts (roses): Glitz Design (Beautiful Dreamer); stamps: October Afternoon; ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black, Pear Tart. London Fog); Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap); twill ribbon: May Arts; edge distresser; lace trim; buttons

There's a prize up for grabs for a lucky player, and I hope you'll join in, even if you're not Brazilian :)
Smooches,

March ACSP pubs

Good evening, friends! Before I start tonight's inky session, I wanted to share a couple of cards, that you can find in the new issue of Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine.

The Stamper's Challenge is focusing on some gorgeous, retro stamps from Hero Arts (a set of four woodblock stamps called Vintage), and three of the cards featuring these are mine. I took these photos before sending them out:

Also, inside you can find some handy-dandy ideas on how to use spray inks. I contributed this card.
(I used silver Glimmer Mist on top of the sprayed ink, hence the 'speckled' look)

I saw the card that inspired me somewhere on the web, and never saved the link. It was another card with an umbrella stamp, used as a mask, and a spray ink as 'rain'. I think it's the cutest idea ever! Although working with spray ink is a very messy business... don't ask me why I know it ;)

As always, feel free to refer to the magazine for the instructions! See you later,

Verve sketch

Long time no see, friends! It's been a busy time in the Palamountain household; lots of unpacking, sorting and shopping. I did a great deal of assembling today, after a spree in IKEA, including some new furniture to accommodate the new conditions in my craft space. I'm so happy to finally see things in (reasonable) order, and while I will be polishing the look for the next couple of weeks, it's good to have all my supplies on hand. Yay!

That being said, I didn't have much time to stamp. I was hoping for a leisurely inky time tonight, but ended up hastily finishing one of my assignments, that I almost forgot about... oops! Nevertheless, I decided that I finally post the card that I made two days ago, instead. About time I did so!
Another source of joy is that I *think* I finally found the best spot for taking photos - right on my desk! It was all messy until today, so I decided to try how it works with the ceiling lamp on and it does, tee hee! I'm yet to see how the daylight photos behave, though.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Melon Berry), AnnaBelle Stamps (teal); papers: My Mind's Eye (Miss Caroline); stamps: Verve (Just For You), October Afternoon (5 & Dime); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black, Summer Sky), Versa Magic (Oasis Green); sticker (rose): Glitz Design; Nestabilities circles/Scalloped Circles; ribbon: SU! (Baja Breeze); buttons; sewing machine; baker's twine

The card was made for the VLVFeb2012 Week 3 sketch. I still need to tackle the last week's one!
The colours are inspired by the yummy palette from PDCC120.

Thank you for visiting my bloggie today, be sweet! xxx

Jay Gee's Nook - No matter how you slice it...

It's high time for a Sunday's DT post at the Jay Gee's Nook blog!
JGSNOOK_LOGO
I inked up the FUN stamp set from Purple Onion Designs, called Cirtus Set. So punny and so cute!!
I coloured the oranges with Copics, dotted some darker colour in the slices and gave them some sparkle. I don't really know why it feels only fitting to me - every time I use the orange/lemon stamp I always have to glitter it up... *grin*

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Rustic White), white; stamps: Purple Onion Designs (Citrus Set); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black); Copics; glitter glue: Ice Stickles

I combined the FTL179 sketch, with the 'punny' challenge at CAS-ual Fridays (CFC41):

Glitz Design - in blues and yellows

Hi friends, it's time for my new post at the Glitz blog!
I designed two cards, with the Dance In Sunshine and Vintage Blue Collections.

First up, Vintage Blue. I took the beautiful transparent Peek-A-Boo, and framed my card with it, backing it up first with a neutral patterned paper. More acrylic was used, in a form of the beautiful birdcage, that I "dressed up" with hand-cut and inked leaves. I also took the sticker, trimmed it to form a fun banner, and "hung" from the pom-pom trim.

Glitz Design "Vintage Blue" papers: Polka, Motif
Glitz Design "Vintage Blue" Titles Cardstock Stickers
Glitz Design "Vintage Blue" Peek-A-Boo
Glitz Design "Vintage Blue" Trim
Glitz Design "Vintage Blue" Giant Rhinestones

Other: cardstock: PTI (Lemon Tart), SU! (Old Olive); button twine; border punch: EK Success; sewing machine; ink: Versa Color (White); pinking scissors

I framed the next card as well, this time with a Paper Layer. I added the vintage Whatnot label, flower and wording.

Glitz Design "Dance In Sunshine" paper: Floral
Glitz Design "Dance In Sunshine" Whatnot
Glitz Design "Dance In Sunshine" Paper Layers
Glitz Design "Dance In Sunshine" Glitzers
Glitz Design "Dance In Sunshine" Giant Rhinestones

Other: cardstock: Canson (grey); sewing machine

See you next time!

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #50

Holy moly... where did the time go?? It was only just weekend, when I promised myself not to delay this week's sketch too much, and lookie! Already it's Thursday...
To make it up for you, I will keep the link list open until next Saturday (March 3rd), so you've got heaps of time to play.

On another note, did you guys notice that we're up to a 50th sketch already?? WOW!!

Still taking the photos in various random places in the house, trying to figure out the right one. It's a bit tricky at night 'cause the ceiling lights S.U.C.K. big time.
We'll have to look into replacing at least some of these with good, bright & white lights. In the meantime, what you see is what you get :)

Supplies: cardstock: SU! (Basic Grey), PTI (Orange Zest, Spring Rain, Lemon Tart); stamps: WPlus9 (Folk Art Florals, Defining Words), PTI (A Big Thank You); ink: Memento (London Fog, Summer Sky), Vivid (Sky Blue); corner rounder: EK Success; Nestabilities Scalloped Circles/Labels 18; buttons; grosgrain ribbon

The colours that I used, come from CTD180:

- Please share the link to your creation via the Inlinkz widget, so that I can come and check it out. I would love to see what you did with it!
- The colours/elements mean nothing towards the card. All styles, colours and supplies, as well as slight alterations of the sketch are welcome.
- A new sketch and sample is posted every Saturday, but you're welcome to play any time! Just leave a link in the comments section after Inlinkz widget closes.
